In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Spring Morning Warburton by Leon William Hanson. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 1,292.50 (€ 763.55). Other works by Leon William Hanson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 1,880.00 (€ 1,110.61) in August 2003 for the work Morning near Hartley.
