Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lotto di due opere: by Leon Polk Smith was sold in the 20th/21st Century Milan Online Sale Part II auction at Christies in Milan in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,016.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Polk Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Over Red in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 336,500.00 (€ 297,182.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lotto di due opere: von Leon Polk Smith wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century Milan Online Sale Part II bei Christies in Mailand versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.016,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Polk Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Over Red im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 336.500,00 (€ 297.182,73).
