Auction result well in line with expectations
The work From Titian: The Flaying of Marsyas by Leon Kossoff was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,702.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leon Kossoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 1,388,750.00 (€ 1,566,467.81).

Die Arbeit From Titian: The Flaying of Marsyas von Leon Kossoff kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.702,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leon Kossoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Willesden Junction - Autumn Afternoon im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.388.750,00 (€ 1.566.467,81).
