Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French The Flower Seller by Léon François Comerre was sold in the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 29,569.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon François Comerre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Le Triomphe Du Cygne in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 240,500.00 (€ 336,762.22).
