Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work French Portrait Of Suzanne Hudelo, Née Armand, Sitting In A Greenhouse by Léon François Comerre for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,276.50). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon François Comerre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Le Triomphe Du Cygne in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 240,500.00 (€ 336,762.22).
