Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Peaches by Lemuel Everett Wilmarth. The price achieved of USD 45,410.00 (€ 33,542.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lemuel Everett Wilmarth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Oranges and Raisins in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 154,500.00 (€ 172,471.53).

Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peaches von Lemuel Everett Wilmarth zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 45.410,00 (€ 33.542,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lemuel Everett Wilmarth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Oranges and Raisins im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 154.500,00 (€ 172.471,53).
