Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Layer--Pungkyung (Layer--Landscape) by Lee Sung-O was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,794.53). Other works by Lee Sung-O have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2007 by the work Layer, 2004 at USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,813.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Layer--Pungkyung (Layer--Landscape) von Lee Sung-O im März 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.400,00 (€ 1.794,53) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Lee Sung-O wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2007 die Arbeit Layer, 2004 mit USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.813,14).
