Upper estimate price exceeded by 33 %.
The work Weaver by Lee Man Fong was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,134,000.00 (€ 137,108.85), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
