Upper estimate price exceeded by 39 %.
In October 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Weaver by Lee Man Fong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 693,000.00 (€ 77,086.65), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Weaver von Lee Man Fong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 77.086,65) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Man Fong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bali Life im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 33.720.000,00 (€ 3.471.572,23).
