Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Beyond There by Lee Jae Sam was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 847,500.00 (€ 74,087.01). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lee Jae Sam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Dalbit (Moonshine) sold at auction in May 2010 with the realized price of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 89,344.33).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Beyond There von Lee Jae Sam im November 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 250.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 847.500,00 (€ 74.087,01) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lee Jae Sam; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Dalbit (Moonshine) im Mai 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 89.344,33).
