Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Lee Gatch was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,387.93). Admittedly, works by Lee Gatch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ionian in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,214.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lee Gatch im März 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.800,00 (€ 1.387,93) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lee Gatch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ionian im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.214,05).
