Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Laxman Pai was sold in the The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 504.00 (€ 592.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laxman Pai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Houses) in March last year with an auction result of USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Laxman Pai wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Surya Collection: Property from Mrs. Ute Rettberg bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 504,00 (€ 592,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laxman Pai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Houses) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.037,77).
