Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Water Carriers) by Laxman Pai was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,009.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laxman Pai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Houses), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Water Carriers) von Laxman Pai wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.009,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Laxman Pai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Houses) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.037,77) versteigert wurde.
