This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laxman Pai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Houses), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
