Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Cycle of Nature by Laxman Pai for USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,863.85). This price was achieved in the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Laxman Pai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Houses) in March last year with an auction result of USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,037.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Cycle of Nature von Laxman Pai für USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.863,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laxman Pai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Houses) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.037,77).
