Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California, which included the work Floating Red Horizon, 1967 by Lawrence Calcagno. The price achieved of USD 4,845.00 (€ 4,952.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawrence Calcagno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Red Bank, which sold at auction in July 2021 for USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,620.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Floating Red Horizon, 1967 von Lawrence Calcagno zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.845,00 (€ 4.952,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Calcagno mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Red Bank beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.620,36) versteigert wurde.
