Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pack Donkeys and Figures by Laverne Nelson Black was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,760.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laverne Nelson Black achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apache at Watering Hole 31 1/2 x 41 1/2 in. framed 38 x 48 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 101,175.00 (€ 98,009.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pack Donkeys and Figures von Laverne Nelson Black im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.760,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laverne Nelson Black erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Apache at Watering Hole 31 1/2 x 41 1/2 in. framed 38 x 48 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 101.175,00 (€ 98.009,30).
