Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Cowboy Riding Bucking Longhorn Steer by Laverne Nelson Black for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,460.02). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laverne Nelson Black achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apache at Watering Hole 31 1/2 x 41 1/2 in. framed 38 x 48 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 101,175.00 (€ 98,009.30).
