Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures On The Beach I by Lawrence Daws was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. It changed hands for a price of AUD 11,950.00 (€ 7,345.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawrence Daws - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lily Pool, which sold at auction in November 2003 for AUD 28,200.00 (€ 17,011.69).

Die Arbeit Figures On The Beach I von Lawrence Daws kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 11.950,00 (€ 7.345,73) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Daws mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lily Pool beobachtet, die im November 2003 für AUD 28.200,00 (€ 17.011,69) versteigert wurde.
