Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Landscape - From 1913 Mining Disaster Series by Lawrence Daws. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 2,390.00 (€ 1,437.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Daws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Pool in November 2003 with an auction result of AUD 28,200.00 (€ 17,011.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape - From 1913 Mining Disaster Series von Lawrence Daws zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 2.390,00 (€ 1.437,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Daws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Pool im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 28.200,00 (€ 17.011,69).
