Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Still Life With Pansies by Laurence Biddle. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,922.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laurence Biddle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Marigolds, Primroses, Geraniums, Violets And Other Flowers In A Bowl; And Another Similar, which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,189.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Pansies von Laurence Biddle zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.922,44) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Laurence Biddle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French Marigolds, Primroses, Geraniums, Violets And Other Flowers In A Bowl; And Another Similar beobachtet, die im März 2006 für GBP 4.320,00 (€ 6.189,78) versteigert wurde.
