Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 1,997.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Laurence Biddle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Marigolds, Primroses, Geraniums, Violets And Other Flowers In A Bowl; And Another Similar, which sold at auction in March 2006 for GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,189.78).
