Despite a disappointment, a good price for Laureano Barrau
When the work Spanish gente De Mar (Fishermen) by Laureano Barrau was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,266.45). Despite this disappointing result, Spanish gente De Mar (Fishermen) is the most expensive artwork by Laureano Barrau that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Laureano Barrau
Als die Arbeit Spanish gente De Mar (Fishermen) von Laureano Barrau im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.266,45) den Besitzer.
