Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View of the Coast - Santa Monica, 2007 by Larry Cohen was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,362.30). Admittedly, works by Larry Cohen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View From The California Incline, 2006 in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 6,950.00 (€ 6,233.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View of the Coast - Santa Monica, 2007 von Larry Cohen im Juni 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.362,30) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Larry Cohen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View From The California Incline, 2006 im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.950,00 (€ 6.233,74).
