Auction result well in line with expectations
The work MJA I (Memory of John Altoon), 1979 by Larry Bell was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,837.50 (€ 10,222.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Bell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 623,400.00 (€ 400,642.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit MJA I (Memory of John Altoon), 1979 von Larry Bell kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 10.222,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Bell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 623.400,00 (€ 400.642,67).
