Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Larry Bell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California auction, the work Lux III, 1971 sold for USD 6,375.00 (€ 6,516.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Bell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 623,400.00 (€ 400,642.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Larry Bell erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made In California wurde die Arbeit Lux III, 1971 für USD 6.375,00 (€ 6.516,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Bell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 623.400,00 (€ 400.642,67).
