In October last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation Charity Auction, which included the work Fraction #2797 by Larry Bell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,668.51), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Bell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 623,400.00 (€ 400,642.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Children's Cancer & Blood Foundation Charity Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fraction #2797 von Larry Bell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.668,51) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Bell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 623.400,00 (€ 400.642,67).
