Despite a disappointment, a good price for Lao Shu
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Relaxation Through Painting by Lao Shu for HKD 55,000.00 (€ 6,529.68). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Relaxation Through Painting is the most expensive artwork by Lao Shu that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Lao Shu
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Relaxation Through Painting von Lao Shu für HKD 55.000,00 (€ 6.529,68) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Relaxation Through Painting das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lao Shu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
