Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boating by Lao Shu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 12,500.00 (€ 1,349.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lao Shu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Relaxation Through Painting in May last year with an auction result of HKD 55,000.00 (€ 6,529.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boating von Lao Shu kam im November 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 12.500,00 (€ 1.349,60) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lao Shu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Relaxation Through Painting im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 55.000,00 (€ 6.529,68).
