Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Burnt Landscape by Lancelot Ribeiro. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,228.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lancelot Ribeiro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (White Landscape), which sold at auction in October 2016 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,532.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burnt Landscape von Lancelot Ribeiro zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.228,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lancelot Ribeiro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (White Landscape) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.532,84) versteigert wurde.
