This artwork by Kwok Hon Sum achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Landscape sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,652.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kwok Hon Sum - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Supreme Buddha Ii, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 28,000.00 (€ 17,715.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kwok Hon Sum erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Landscape für HKD 52.500,00 (€ 5.652,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kwok Hon Sum mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Supreme Buddha Ii beobachtet, die im März 2008 für USD 28.000,00 (€ 17.715,91) versteigert wurde.
