This price was achieved in the auction Russian Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 350,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still life with lilac in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 9,286,250.00 (€ 10,439,122.20).
