Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work Bathing Boys by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 626,500.00 (€ 787,683.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still life with lilac in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 9,286,250.00 (€ 10,439,122.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important Russian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bathing Boys von Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 626.500,00 (€ 787.683,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still life with lilac im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.286.250,00 (€ 10.439.122,20).
