Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Greek naxos by Konstantinos Maleas. It changed hands for a price of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,899.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Konstantinos Maleas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek The Fortress, Thessaloniki in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 108,500.00 (€ 151,928.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek naxos von Konstantinos Maleas zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.899,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Konstantinos Maleas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Greek The Fortress, Thessaloniki im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.500,00 (€ 151.928,07).
