Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Austrian schmetterling (Butterfly) by Koloman Moser was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 15,042.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Koloman Moser achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le choc des Titans in April last year with an auction result of EUR 384,300.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Austrian schmetterling (Butterfly) von Koloman Moser wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 15.042,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Koloman Moser erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le choc des Titans im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 384.300,00.
