Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Morning Glory by Kojiro Matsumoto was auctioned at POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in October this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 16,800.00 (€ 2,031.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kojiro Matsumoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April this year with an auction result of HKD 20,160.00 (€ 20,587.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Morning Glory von Kojiro Matsumoto im Oktober diesen Jahres bei POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 16.800,00 (€ 2.031,64) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kojiro Matsumoto erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 20.160,00 (€ 20.587,30).
