Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kofi Antubam could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in December 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work Women carrying goods and a child changed hands for USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,351.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kofi Antubam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Akan Akoyeame (Spokesman), which sold at auction in October 2020 for GBP 3,812.50 (€ 4,233.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kofi Antubam konnte im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Women carrying goods and a child für USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.351,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kofi Antubam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Akan Akoyeame (Spokesman) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für GBP 3.812,50 (€ 4.233,46) versteigert wurde.
