In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction RUSSIAN PICTURES, which included the work The jester and the gusli player by Klavdi Vasilievich Lebedev. The price achieved of GBP 66,000.00 (€ 96,962.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The jester and the gusli player is the most expensive artwork by Klavdi Vasilievich Lebedev that we have observed at auctions so far.
