Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Konrei ironaoshi no zu, sanmai tsuzuki (Scene of changing cloth at wedding, a triptych) by Kitagawa Utamaro. The price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 41,214.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kitagawa Utamaro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'amour évident (Arawaruru koi), portrait en buste (okubi-e) d'une jeune femme s'arrangeant une épingle à cheveux sur fond micacé, de la série Anthologie de poèmes: la section de l'amour, (Kasen koi no bu in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 381,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Konrei ironaoshi no zu, sanmai tsuzuki (Scene of changing cloth at wedding, a triptych) von Kitagawa Utamaro zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 41.214,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kitagawa Utamaro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'amour évident (Arawaruru koi), portrait en buste (okubi-e) d'une jeune femme s'arrangeant une épingle à cheveux sur fond micacé, de la série Anthologie de poèmes: la section de l'amour, (Kasen koi no bu im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 381.000,00.
