Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Kingsley Obasi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,198.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kingsley Obasi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans titre, 2021, which sold at auction in October last year for EUR 10,496.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kingsley Obasi kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.198,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kingsley Obasi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans titre, 2021 beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für EUR 10.496,00 versteigert wurde.
