Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Syncopation 3 by Kim Lim was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 3,187.50 (€ 354.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Lim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,618.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Syncopation 3 von Kim Lim im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 3.187,50 (€ 354,57) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Lim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.618,25).
