Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kim Jong Ku achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Poongkyung sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 13,378.05) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kim Jong Ku - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Steel Powder Paintings, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 343,500.00 (€ 28,279.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kim Jong Ku erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Poongkyung für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 13.378,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kim Jong Ku mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Steel Powder Paintings beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 343.500,00 (€ 28.279,15) versteigert wurde.
