In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale), which included the work Steel Powder Paintings by Kim Jong Ku. The result of HKD 200,000.00 (€ 18,535.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Other works by Kim Jong Ku have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2008 the work Steel Powder Paintings was auctioned for HKD 343,500.00 (€ 28,279.15).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Steel Powder Paintings von Kim Jong Ku zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 200.000,00 (€ 18.535,81) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Kim Jong Ku konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2008 die Arbeit Steel Powder Paintings für HKD 343.500,00 (€ 28.279,15) versteigert.
