In May 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work The Grain of Wood/Boy; & The Grain of Wood/Still Life by Kim Duck Yong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 125,000.00 (€ 12,986.09), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kim Duck Yong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Time Together, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 391,500.00 (€ 32,230.82).

Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Grain of Wood/Boy; & The Grain of Wood/Still Life von Kim Duck Yong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 12.986,09) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kim Duck Yong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Time Together beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 391.500,00 (€ 32.230,82) versteigert wurde.
