Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stories to Be Told, #5, 2017 by Kiley Ames was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 255.00 (€ 237.63). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kiley Ames - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work It was a Mystery All Insoluble, 2016, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 1,024.00 (€ 894.95).
