Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Io (Seated) by Kiki Smith was sold in the Art contemporain - Vente du jour auction at Christies in London in June this year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 16,380.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kiki Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 284,800.00 (€ 241,560.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Io (Seated) von Kiki Smith wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Art contemporain - Vente du jour bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 16.380,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kiki Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.800,00 (€ 241.560,64).
