Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Set Of Two From The Rustam Series) by Khadim Ali. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,236.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Khadim Ali - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Rustam Series), which sold at auction in June 2012 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,704.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Set Of Two From The Rustam Series) von Khadim Ali zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.236,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Khadim Ali mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Rustam Series) beobachtet, die im Juni 2012 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.704,08) versteigert wurde.
