Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Howl With The Wolves by Ken Currie was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,926.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ken Currie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fatherland, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,620.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Howl With The Wolves von Ken Currie kam im November 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.926,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ken Currie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fatherland beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 51.620,70) versteigert wurde.
