Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Girl in black and red Yellow canary Girl with three doves Girl with bird by Kawano Kaoru was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 239.00 (€ 194.44). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kawano Kaoru - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in September 2006 for GBP 420.00 (€ 619.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Girl in black and red Yellow canary Girl with three doves Girl with bird von Kawano Kaoru im März 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 239,00 (€ 194,44) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Kawano Kaoru mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im September 2006 für GBP 420,00 (€ 619,59) versteigert wurde.
