Auction result misses estimated price range
In March last year a collector was able to acquire the work The wrestler Genjiyama Kichidayu by Katsukawa Shunei for USD 3,800.00 (€ 3,425.58). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Katsukawa Shunei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Sumo Wrestlers in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The wrestler Genjiyama Kichidayu von Katsukawa Shunei für USD 3.800,00 (€ 3.425,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Sumo Wrestlers im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.394,03).
